The eight week Southern Africa Circuit which starts and ends in Harare will show us the superb variety of scenery, wildlife and culture which exists in the southern part of Africa. It is a combination of two safaris, Harare to Cape Town and Wilderness and Wildlife Safari.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Week 1 Arrive Harare. South to Great Zimbabwe Ruins a fascinating stone complex that gave the country its name. Cross into South Africa and Kruger NP.
Week 2 South to Swaziland, walk among the animals of Malolotja Nature Reserve. Return to South Africa and view the large population of rhino and lion in Umfolozi Game Reserve.
Week 3 Walk along the colossal Drakensberg Mountains before dropping down to the beautiful beaches along Durban's coast. Enjoy the coastal scenery of the Garden Route.
Week 4 Visit the most southerly point in Africa, Cap Agulhas, before enjoying the Dutch influence and wine estates of the Stellenbosch area.
Week 5 Enjoy Cape Town one of South Africa's most beautiful cities. Visit the Cape of Good Hope and Table Mountain before heading north to Namibia. Marvel at the Fish River Canyon.
Week 6 North to Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert, home to the highest sand dunes in the world. Appreciate the grandeur of the Namib-Naukluft Park as we camp in its desert. North to fur seal colony of Cape Cross, then onto Brandenberg Mountain. See rock engravings at Twfelfontein before heading to Etosha NP.
Week 7 View the amazing wildlife in superb Etosha NP. We camp near a waterhole and watch the animals come to drink. Traverse the Caprivi strip to reach Botswana and take a safari in Chobe NP. Sometimes hundreds of elephants can be seen drinking from the Linyanti river.
Week 8 Cross into Zimbabwe and view the legendary Victoria Falls. Optional activities available. South to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where we tour the Matopos Hills NP, then onto the ruins of Great Zimbabwe. Safari ends in Harare.
